The Center of our Lives

Christmas is here! Wowoweeeeeee!!! People are so busy doing their last minute shopping. Malls opened til midnight, lighted Christmas trees you can see, children having the time of their lives doing carolings, families preparing for the much awaited reunion, friends excitedly prepare special gatherings...wheeewww!

With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas so it seems, people tend to focus more on this occasion as a time for parties, reunion, gift giving and receiving, vacation, bonuses and every thing that makes their celebration merrier. Many have forgotten the real essence of why we are celebrating Christmas. As I ponder on these essentials, God reminded me several things as I lay down on my bed deeply thinking this morning. Have I been sensitive on these?

1. The needy people. I received much from the Lord. Have I considered to share these blessings to those who are unfortunate who have little if nothing to celebrate this Christmas?
2. My Family. Have I done my part to really be a blessing to them in thoughts and in deeds?
3. Relatives and Friends. Have I done my part to share to them not only the physical blessings but the spiritual blessings too?
4. Have I been extending mercy to those whom I believe justice must be extended?
5. Have I been unwaivering in my faith to God?
6. Have I readily obeyed God in everything even if it is uncomfortable in my part?

Well, I believe God has every reason to remind me these things. Jesus is the reason for this season. As I contemplate on these things, it led me to send text messages to my friends and loved ones: A BLESSED DAY TO ALL OF YOU. MAY GOD BE THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING WE DO TODAY AS WE ENJOY HIS BLESSINGS AND FAVOR. MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL.

Yes, Jesus must be the center of our lives as we celebrate this Christmas season. In Him we live, and move and have our being. Merry Christmas!

Tuesday Couch Potatoe

To be honest, I do not really like Vince Vaughnn, I find him sometimes over acting but he played his role so well in this film . In fairnes.. he did some justice to the role he played. Frd Claus is the underdog of the family who needs a favor from his saintly brother Nick (Paul Giamatti), so they make a deal to help each other during the Christmas season........ I'll stop here.. watch again the movie!

The Reason for the Season!

I miss the blogosphere. I have been busy lately with my works. Got lots of speaking engagement here and there... Glory to God. The Campus Ministry is soaring high. Last week , I was able to share the Topic “ Jesus is the Reason for the Season” to 3 Unviersities here in our city. By God’s help, their hearts and minds were opened on the true meaning of Christmas – that is JESUS THE SON OF GOD CAME HERE ON EARTH TO BECOME THE SON OF MAN.... SO THAT WE THE SON OF MAN WILL BECOME THE SONS OF GOD!

Thankful Thursday

It is always good to give thanks to the Lord Who never stops pouring out His favor and blessings to us. Though at times we may think that we are not worthy of it all, our God in His infinite wisdom still pours on His blessings. Last week, our son Isaiah John moved up one rank higher to be included in the 2nd honors of their class. He had been working and studying very hard to be on that level. We encouraged him to excel and give his best in everything he does for the glory of his God. Many of his classmates are non-believers and we told IJ (his nickname), to always trust his God and show to his friends the wonderful things God has done in his life. During the honors’ program, I and my wife were part of the proud parents who witnessed the giving of the honor’s certificate. My wife excitedly took pictures of our son receiving his award. IJ even led the opening prayer and it was indeed a great blessing and a break for him to do that since he is still a new student in that school. Indeed in everything that happens in our lives, it is always good to give thanks to God and give Him all the glory and honor. In good times and in bad times, God is good. With this, we all together declare…THANK YOU LORD FOR ALL YOU’VE DONE IN OUR LIVES AND FOR YOUR FAVOR GIVEN TO OUR SON. TO YOU BE ALL THE GLORY, HONOR AND PRAISE!

Road Trip

In spite of the routine happenings that we experience each Christmas, there is something specially about each year’s celebration. Every year the season has it’s own charm. There is a sense of magic every time we here songs in the air. A sense of Joy overwhelm our whole being …. As if everything comes alive on Christmas season.

Christmas is celebrated in different ways from different race and walks of life. Some prefer to stay at their place but others are more thrilled when they spent in outside their home. Like us, we plan to travel by third week of December. This time, we decided to take our car for a land trip somewhere in Davao City or Butuan City. Today I will send the car to the Auto Center for all the necessary maintenance work like the engine, radiator, steering and A/C compressor for the car's airconditioning system. By next week everything will be ready then for our Road trip . Thank God!

TCP : Indiana Jones Series

When you say outdoor movie, Indiana Jones topped my list. It is the longest running series in Hollywood History starred by the same Leading actor. Harrison Ford was first introduced in the 1981 film Raiders of the Lost Ark, set in 1936. He is portrayed as an adventurous throwback to the 1930s film serial treasure hunters and pulp action heroes, with an alter ego of Doctor Jones, a respected archaeologist. 1984 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The third film, 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade . The 2008 film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, became the latest film in the series.

I am looking forward for another Indiana Jones movie in the future.. I hope Harrison Ford isn't too old when that time comes.

Historical Event

A Historical event for the city of Cagayan de Oro! It was the first time to happen for the hundred of years since the birth of our place, the City of Golden Friendship. And our city is the first one to celebrate such an event in the whole of the Philippine Island!

Last November 30, Cagayan de Oro City celebrated its first ever "THANKSGIVING DAY". It was an event solely dedicated to GOD and GOD alone for all His goodness and favor bestowed upon our place. It was the year 1917 when our city was dedicated to God. Cagayan de Oro was hit with a plague the claimed many lives and the town elders with all the religious leaders decided to dedicate our place and offer it to God. Miraculously, the plague disappeared and God spared many lives. He reminded the pastors here to set a special day just for Him and let the people give thanks and honor just for Him.

Every year, different religious groups celebrate their Fiestas to honor their patron saints and their special holy day. But never in the history did we celebrate a "THANKSGIVING DAY" for God that will be celebrated by Muslims, Christians and Lumads altogether! WOW!
Indeed, God deserves the highest praise, honor and worship. for above everyone else, above everything else, He alone is the one TRUE GOD the source of our life. To Him be all the glory and thanksgiving.

Amazing Video

I was surfing the net for a video to be presented this coming Sunday when I came over this very powerful video of Salvation. Jesus indeed paid the full price of our sins. He gave His life for you and me. I cried on this one. Thank you so much Oh God for giving Your Son Jesus for me. I love you with all my heart, mind and strength. Please take time to view this. You will surely be blessed!
