Something wonderful in Asia: Philippine Underground river

To all my friends out there, here's one thing that might grab your interest. I will post the different wonderful places in Asia starting from my beloved country, the Philippines. I hope it will remind us of things and places we often overlook and not appreciate. God's wonderful creation. So, here it is...

Puerto Prinsesa is the place. The City of Puerto Princesa (Filipino: Lungsod ng Puerto Princesa), the capital of Palawan, is a first class city in the Philippines. It is famous for its crocodile farms, underground rivers and dive spots. It is also the largest city in the Philippines in terms of total land area.

Puerto Princesa City lies at the mid-section of the long strip of Palawan Island province. It is approximately 306 nautical miles from Manila, 206 nautical miles to Panay Island and about 250 nautical miles to Zamboanga. It is bounded on the north by the municipalities of San Vicente and Roxas and on the south by the municipality of Aborlan. To its west is the South China Sea while to the East lies the Sulu Sea.

Here in this paradise island, you can find the famous underground river, Puerto Princesa Subterranian RiverNational Park, a cave complex that features a two-kilometer navigable route underneath a limestone formation, has attracted hundreds of thousands of local and foreign visitors, particularly during the last two years after it was first nominated as one of the country's several entries in the global voting campaign to be part of the wonders of the world.
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, features a spectacular limestone karst landscape with its underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it flows directly into the sea, and the lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The area also represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. The site contains a full mountain to the sea ecosystem and protects forests, which are among the most significant in Asia.

I as a Filipino would like to invite you and visit this paradise here in the Philippines. You will surely thank God for creating wonderful natural beauties that reflect peace, serenity and display His awesome power! God bless you all! Until our next trip!
