The Center of our Lives

Christmas is here! Wowoweeeeeee!!! People are so busy doing their last minute shopping. Malls opened til midnight, lighted Christmas trees you can see, children having the time of their lives doing carolings, families preparing for the much awaited reunion, friends excitedly prepare special gatherings...wheeewww!

With all the hustle and bustle of Christmas so it seems, people tend to focus more on this occasion as a time for parties, reunion, gift giving and receiving, vacation, bonuses and every thing that makes their celebration merrier. Many have forgotten the real essence of why we are celebrating Christmas. As I ponder on these essentials, God reminded me several things as I lay down on my bed deeply thinking this morning. Have I been sensitive on these?

1. The needy people. I received much from the Lord. Have I considered to share these blessings to those who are unfortunate who have little if nothing to celebrate this Christmas?
2. My Family. Have I done my part to really be a blessing to them in thoughts and in deeds?
3. Relatives and Friends. Have I done my part to share to them not only the physical blessings but the spiritual blessings too?
4. Have I been extending mercy to those whom I believe justice must be extended?
5. Have I been unwaivering in my faith to God?
6. Have I readily obeyed God in everything even if it is uncomfortable in my part?

Well, I believe God has every reason to remind me these things. Jesus is the reason for this season. As I contemplate on these things, it led me to send text messages to my friends and loved ones: A BLESSED DAY TO ALL OF YOU. MAY GOD BE THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING WE DO TODAY AS WE ENJOY HIS BLESSINGS AND FAVOR. MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL.

Yes, Jesus must be the center of our lives as we celebrate this Christmas season. In Him we live, and move and have our being. Merry Christmas!
