MOTORBIKE ACCIDENT






No matter how cautious you are while driving, accident on the road is always probable . I was slowly and surely driving our motorbike last Saturday when suddenly ,an old woman ran through the road without looking at my direction. Praise God for the reflexes , I was able to brake and managed to balance the bike before it smashed to the ground at the right side. My 2 kids and my wife who were at my back were all ok (only my wife got bruises on her legs) . The woman on the other hand had only small cut on her toe but we still rushed her to the nearest hospital. We let her undergo X-ray and wound dressing. We even bought pain reliever for 6 days .My heart melt when the woman cried that she was the bread winner of the family while her son and husband are doing nothing for the family. So we gave her a small amount.

I greatly thank God for the miracle. Once again, God proved his omnipotence. His presence is 24/7 in our lives.

An hour after the accident, I called the body builder who did the painting of our car to rushed its completion. My wife and kids are a little bit trauma from the accident. It’s really better to drive a four wheel car than a two wheel.

LIFE BEGINS AT 40




“Life begins at forty “ they say… so as wearing eye glasses begins at 40. So here I am now with my new Rudy Project eye glasses. I never expect that I will someday wear this one. I can no longer bear preaching without eye glasses. The letters simply blurr especially at night time. There was an instance that I forgot my big lettered bible that I was forced to use my small lettered one. I really could not read any word. Thanks be t God that the verses was included on the LCD, it spared myself from embarrassment .

My wife encouraged me to consult an optometrist . My head aches everytime I read over 1 hour . For one month I experienced head aches every afternoon.

So here I am. Looking Genius….

PROMISES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN

It has been said that promises are made to be broken. Unfortunately, we do see promises broken too often. As couple stand before God and a group of family and friends promising to remain to each other until death should separate them. Then a difficulty arises in the marriage and the promise is broken. Divorce rates attests to it. Politicians run for office making various promises to their constituents to garner votes, but when elected, the promises are too often forgotten.

People change -that is a given fact. God never changes , He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the One who always keeps His promise. People may be unfaithful but God remains faithful at all times. TRUST ON GOD INSTEAD OF MEN!

BEING THANKFUL


From the rising of the sun till its going down, God is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving. For the many blessings He bestowed us, I greatlythank Him for the following :

1.Provision of repainting and overhauling our car. It has been our desire to repaint and overhaul it before school time.
2. My Moms good health ( She's a healthy and groovy 72 year old grand lola).
3. Newly planted church in Bukidnon
4. My Sons Full scholarship ( got his free uniform and books today)
5. My wifes healing

THE INHERITANCE

One of the joys of life is that of sharing things with others. Parents know this. We frequently share things with our children. The things we give them range from small amount of cash now and then , clothes, toys all the way up to the transfer of large estates or inheritance.

I write this blog because I am surprised how my 13 year old son shares almost all that I have. He now used my shoes and my shirts. I was able to say yes, when he requested to swapped cell phones. Just this morning, he asked me if I am willing to let him borrow our car when his legal age to drive will come. I then replied, “I am not willing to let you drive but I am willing to buy you one if our budget allows”. Wow! What a promise.

It is not that I am beginning to spoiled him, but as a father it is my great joy to provide for our family. This is our ultimate goal why we work hard and earn – to provide a decent living to our families.

My greatest joy even greater that sharing material wealth is sharing a spiritual inheritance to my children. I could say that I am successful as a father and as a minister unless I could see my children serving the Lord .

I have a collection John Maxwell's books and this is one of my favorite. It was given to me during the first John Maxwell Leaders Training in the Philippines three years ago. The book helped me a lot when I was on the process of organizing the Care groups for our young people and the leadership team who works with me. It is easy to read and provides a great vision as to who you are as a leader. I was able to finish reading it in a week.

MORALITY AND IMMORALITY OF CYBERSPACE

I was invited to speak to the National Electronics Week in Mindanao University of Science and Technology on the topic “ MORALITY AND IMMORALITY OF CYBERSPACE”. Below are the excerpts of my lecture.


The development of the Internet has been called the most profound change in the way we communicate since the invention of the printing press. Users can access an almost limitless array of rewarding content at the click of a mouse. Familiarity with this technology is vital to our children's future. For today's children to lead tomorrow's world, they must acquire the skills to access the enormous benefits of the Internet, safely. It is especially important that they develop key job skills and an awareness of the increasingly global community.
The Internet can empower our children, giving them the ability to communicate and share ideas and information on a worldwide basis.As wonderful as the future of the Internet may be, the extensive media coverage of various "potholes" on the Information Highway is not an exercise in fiction - there are problems which cannot be swept under the rug. These problems must be addressed squarely in order to protect our children and maximize the potential of the Internet.The local celebration of the National Electronics and Telecommunications Week: Focus on “Protecting the Child in Cyberspace” identifies our common goal - to make our children's online experience safe, educational and entertaining, while honoring constitutional safeguards. A diverse group (IECEP-NM/NTC Reg. 10) has put aside their differing philosophies in order to further this important goal. The Summit enables us to work together to encourage the evolution of the Internet as a truly beneficial medium for our children.There are many issues affecting children and the Internet. These include equitable access, marketing and advertising practices, quality content, privacy, and safety from harmful content and illegal activity, among others. Each of these topics needs to be examined thoroughly.

Cyberspace is just a Medium, A vehicle where once can download datas and information and without anyone doing it, Cyberspace will be just an empty space or medium.

Where lays the Morality and Immorality of Cyberspace? Is there such a Morality and Immorality of Cyberspace? NO! Cyberspace is a neutral ground. It is in the hands of man who created it and deposit datas into it. Threfore the danger is not in cyberspace but in the hands of man who will use it.

BENEFIT OF WARM WATER DRINK AFTER MEAL

When I was in Indonesia and Hongkong, I have observed that Cold water were not served after meal in both countries. In Indonesia, we were shocked to know that softdrinks or any cold beverage were not enlisted on their menu. In our two weeks stay there, only in westernized Jakarta that our thirst where quenched.

Same experience while I was in Hongkong. Even bottled mineral water are not served cold. We Filipino laughed , our meals and soup were served hot while our beverage are served hot also.

This makes sense. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink ater a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down digestion. Once this sludge reacts with acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. Maybe it is time we adopt the chinese,Japanese and Indonesian habit while eating. Nothing to lose , everything to gain.

KEYS TO GOOD COMMUNICATION


Let's face it, there are many opprtunities for miscommunication in the family, and yet good communication is vitally important for strong and healthy relationship and especially to marriage.

1. LISTEN TO WHAT'S BEING SAID. Proverbs 18:13
The Bible says id we do not listen to one another, if we answer without listening, we are fools.
Do you remember when you were still dating? You talk about anything. Now, we are often
busy that we don't take time to talk and listen.

2. BE HONEST IN ALL YOU SAY. Proverbs 12:22
If ever there is a place where there must be honesty, it is the Home. Speak openly about
what you feel and what you think.

3. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK . Proverbs 15:28
It is easy to let our emotions, our weariness , our frustration to speake before our mind gets into gear. But the Bible says the wise man thinks before he speaks. The way you respond to a situation can make all the difference.

4. BE KIND IN WHAT YOU SAY. Proverbs 12:25
Put away filthy language in your mouth. Sometime you must be painfully honest . Its not always what you say, but the way you say it.

5. SAY KIND THINGS. Proverbs 27:5
Never miss an opportunity to encourage , build up the one you love, the one you care about.

I know these are difficult to do. I myself is on the process of applying them. Practice makes perfect.God did not give us the Spirit of timidity but the spirit of power, of love and of self- discipline.

CEBU CITY STOP OVER







Early in the morning we stopped by “Fuerza de San Pedro” of Cebu . It is a military defense structure built by Spanish under the command of Spanish Conquistador, Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and Cebuano people in 1565. It is located in the area now called Plaza Indepencia, in the Pier Area of Cebu City. For a minimum fee of Twenty Pesos ( P20.00), you will enjoy the historical structure of the fort and the museum inside. You will find original paintings, pictures and articrafts in the museum. The roof garden is so refreshing. The children posed by the cannons surrounding the top of the perimeter wall. There is also a wishing well at the ground floor where my nephews joyfully made their wishes.

CEBU-BOHOL TRIP













Its fulfilling to see your wife and children enjoying our Cebu-Bohol Family Vacation. I could see in their eyes the excitement of visiting sights after sights. We booked for the 9-sight package tour. Though we were a bit disheartened due to the 7 hours delay of our flight, and could not malling in Ayala and SM in Cebu, we were overwhelmed with the tour. We went to see the Tarsier, Prony the Phyton, Chocolate Hills, Man-made Forest, Hinagdanan Cave, Bohol Bee Farm, Sandugo shrine, Backlayon Church and enjoyed the Loboc River Cruise with a hearty lunch. My son kept on pointing the scene he saw in Cesar Montano’s film “Panaghoy sa Suba”. My daughter also kept on asking questions after questions. Some, I could not answer myself.

It was a very rewarding experience. I greatly praise God for the provision and His protection throughout our vacation.

DOMINO



Its our 3rd week as bloggers. Yes, blogging is very addictive. Whew!!! we spent much of our time into it, specially that we are yet learning how to navigate, follow fellow bloggers, leave messages on the boxes, sign-up to other blog membership. We realized that it is unhealthy as a family to glue our eyes on the PC and spend less time with the kids. So we made an agreement to limit our blogging hours to one hour each of us.
So last night, we played DOMINO with the kids. We really enjoyed the bonding moments. We laugh and teased each other. We did not realized it was already late in the evening.

An Excercise within your backyard

How have you been lately? do you have a sedentary lifestyle? are you a couch potato? Get up and do something that's good for you and the environment.If you don't like to engage in anything that's related to fitness e.g. (biking, gym,jogging, aerobics...etc.), well, you are not hopeless! You can still get the benefits of these exercises, be fit and help our environment as well.The newest exercise today is called "GREEN GYM"! Well, there's still the gym word but you'll not go to the gym but instead to your garden. All you have to do is have some stretching first (head twist, arms rotation, trunk bending...the basic), then go...plowing, raking the dried fallen leaves, saw dead branches, bend down to pick stones, clean your surroundings...etc. It's still an exercise!Do it and you'll enjoy it. You contribute to the environment too!
Just today, Ienjoyed my GREEN GYM together with my Son and daughter. Its agreat exercise with a sense of fulfillment seeing those weeds gone and plants trimmed.

Church's leader's bonding






This is during our Church's Leader's Bonding. During dinner, the favorite Lechon was served. Care to know some interesting facts about our National dish?

Here's some of it:
Lechón (Tagalog: litson and Cebuano: inasal) is the Spanish word for suckling pig. In the Philippines, it connotes a whole roasted pig, litsong baboy. Chicken and beef are also popular. The process of lechón involves the whole pig/piglet, chicken, or cattle/calf being slowly roasted over charcoal. According to Vocabulario de la Tagala printed in 1613 Lechón = Biik. pp. buyik. pp. Buik. pc. bowik. pc. bolaó. pc. Lechón bermejo = Bolias. pc. Lechoncillo = colig. pc. Lechón is often cooked during national festivities (known as fiestas), the holiday season, and other special occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays and baptisms, or family get-togethers. The lechón is usually the highlight and the most popular dish of these events. It is usually served with a liver-based sauce. However, in some cases, it may be served Chinese style with steamed buns and a sweet plum sauce. This dish is also popular in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and many other parts of the Spanish speaking countries.

WOW! It surely will remain as one of the favorites during special occasions...Long live the Filipinos.

The birthday boys






It's a joint celebration of me and my brother-in-law's birthday (May 2 & 3). He's the oldest of the 5 Bombeo boys. He's now 52 yrs. old and I am 41. We enjoyed the small get together with my wife, IJ & Dale. With us is my sister's brother, Bobby, his wife Vilma, and their children, Yan2x & Lolong.

Also with us is Janet, the wife of Jing2x and their children, Mark,Jim, Tawing & Job2x. Of course with some church's friends. It's a simple but lively celebration. We started it with Thanksgiving to God.

Birthdays always remind me of several important things about life:
1. That life is from God and we borrowed it from Him.
2. That God is the sole owner of our life & has the full authority over it.
3. That we are stewards of this life and we ought to take care of it.

So the next time we celebrate one's birhtday, we ought to first give God all the glory, honor and thanksgiving for He alone deserves it. He's the owner of our life and He must be thankful for His faithfulness in keeping every moment of our lives.

A Silver Medal for our Little Princess







True to her name, our princess Dalefaith Grace was full of hope and faith to receive an award during the recognition program of her school. Deep inside us, we were not expecting any award because her final grades were low. As mentioned in my wife's blog, the kid’s school requirements were not submitted on the deadlines since we were so busy with my mother-in-law's hospitalization, her wake and her burial.

Dale was even absent for 3 days due to the things we ought to finish during Mama's wake. But Dale was so positive that while still on the car, she kept assuring us that she has an award. Upon entering Pryce Plaza Hotel (venue of the program), she grabbed the program and excitedly announced that she got a silver award. Wow! What a faith!

We are very proud of you gurl! we love you very much. Keep up the good work and give God the honor and thanksgiving.

TRUE LOVE WAITS

I composed this song about five years ago. I was blessed by God with a heart to make music for Him. I didn't know that there was a global movement called "True Love Waits" at that time. We have done a movement here in Cagayan de Oro, especially in our church to reach out to the young people in this generation.

This movement focuses on the importance of having a godly perspective among the youth in the area of dating, sex and relationship, especially that there is a growing problem today with regards to teen pregnancy, pre-marital sex and teen suicide.

It is the Church's concern to be on the front telling and showing the young people that what they need is God's love and purely trust Him to order their desires so they can live a happy and victorious life.

We made this song as our theme song every time we have a "True Love Waits" symposium here in our place. We go to campuses in our city and conduct symposium, concerts and seminar to the young people regarding LOVE AND THE TRUTH ABOUT IT. We always emphasize to them the phrase, "WAIT FOR THE RING UNTIL YOU DO THE THING"!

Long live the Filipino people!







What a stunning victory! a 2nd round stoppage of the "HITMAN" Ricky Hatton by Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao. It only took just 359 seconds to add the latest devastating chapter to a legacy that will last for decades.

This fight puts another accolade not only to the Filipino fighter who now for sure is the undisputed "Pound-for-pound" king of the ring and the Greatest boxer in the world today, but this fight brought honor and prestige to the Filipino people.

Manny once again lifted up the image of his fellow countrymen as a resilient people with a heart to win in spite of the many odds we are facing.

With all the cheers, the zests and the celebration of this momentous event in Boxing History, let us not forget to first give God all the glory and honor He deserves. Let us not also forget that with this win, we are not above any other race but rather remain humble for being given a chance to excel in the arena of sports and world competition.

Still we give our respect to Ricky Hatton for the the spirit of sportsmanship he showed during the fight. Our hearts goes with him too and the thousands of English fans out there. Once again, my warmest congratulations to Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao and to the millions of people who believed on him.

This is my message for Manny, always remember that "The way to going UP is down". always stay humble, trust God and put Him first in everything you do. Your success today is a gift from God, what you will do with it is your gift to Him.

Daily Evangelism Exposure Program






Daily Evangelism Exposure Program (DEEP), that’s the acronym of the Missions in Maramag, Bukidnon, where 18 young people brave the 30 days to be away from their loved ones and get out from their comfort zones to plant a church in this part of the mountainous region of Mindanao.

I believe that God will do wonderful acts in their midst and it will change their heart for missions. We all need to stop looking only on the four corners of our church and start looking outside the walls and see people who are suffering, needing peace, joy, forgiveness and assurance. God called His church to be His hands, feet, eyes, ears, and mouth for these people to hear the good news and experience God‘s love in their lives.

Have you seen this movie? I would like to commend this one for you to watch all lovers and couples alike. This will inspire you to draw near to God, the source of genuine love. Fireproofing your marriage? Try Jesus ! He will surely strengthen and protect your marriage from the fiery distraction of separation and divorce . When something is fireproof it doesn’t mean that fire is never going to come to it. It is that when fire comes you are going to be able to withstand the heat and that is the idea behind fireproof and the marriage analogy. It is not about whether or not flames are going to come to your marriage. It is about when they come can you stand the heat are you going to be able to with stand it and out last it.


Spend time with your partner and watch this movie, it will bring tears to your eyes. While me and my darling wife watched this movie, both of us were crying. I remember the first day I said to her I LOVE YOU and the hand of God guiding us for all these years of our marriage. We are truly blessed by this movie. Watch for it guys !

MY BIRTHDAY

“This is the day that the Lord has made , I will rejoice and be glad in it”. Yes, indeed I greatly rejoice in the goodness of God and His love that is new every morning . It is a 41st birthday today, some say “life begins at 40” but I say, with all my heart LIFE BEGINS WITH JESUS ! Thank you Father for being so faithful in my life, my family and my ministry. I give you back all the Praise , the Honor and Thanksgiving.

EAST MEETS WEST




Tomorrow the world stops . All eyes will be glued to the television sets. Movie Theaters, restaurants ,gymnasium and even small eateries offering to show a live telecast of the Pacquiao-Hatton “ East meets west” Fight will surely be jam-packed with people eager to witness the pound for pound king of boxing fight an equally talented boxer from the United Kingdom.

I hope and pray that Christians will not be pulled to the excitement of this event and not attend the Church fellowship tomorrow. We must at all times focus our minds and our hearts in worshiping our living God and not be diverted by any bustle the world offers in lieu of our worship to God.
