Watery Wednesday : Foutain at Ayala

My Carpentry Works

We will be away for three days for a Family Camp somewhere in the mountains. It’s an annual activity of the church wherein families will gather together for leaning and bonding sessions. This is the first time we will hold the event on mountain side.... the past 6 years were held at various beach resort. It is timely because of the”El NiƱo “ phenomena that hit our city. Time for some refreshing cold air in a forest surrounded mountain resort.

After the event,I will be back with my project – minor renovation and improvement of the kids room. I thought of hiring a carpenter to do the works but it’s hard to find a trusted one this time. I changed my mind and do it my self. Anyway, it’s just carpentry 101 ... so I guess I can do it. All I need are some saw blades to cut the plywood for the room extension and paint brush for the painting works. Because it is summer here in our country, the kids can also help me in doing errands. This is a good on-the-job training for them... it’s a great wat of bonding together also. It’s more fulfilling to see the work done with love.

Tagaytay Trip

Last November 2009, we have been given the chance to visit my husband’s sister in Cavite. They prepared for us a time to bond in nearby places that we surely enjoyed. One of this is in Tagaytay. We even visited a big Casino where millionaires and those who wants to find their luck play. We’re curious to see what’s inside a Casino so that we decided to get inside the place. We saw many people playing poker games and slot machines. We even witnessed an old lady who hit a jackpot. We really enjoyed that trip so much and I remember my friend who informed me that there’s now this so called, Online casinos where anybody can play it in the comfort of their own home. Unfortunately, camera and cellphone were not allowed inside, we were not able to take pictures.

Blue Monday # 2

It's another Blue Monday Post. Here I am witt my dream Blue Pick-up wearing a Blue Attire.

My Fascination with Cars

When I was a lot younger, I cannot understand my father’s fascination with cars. Bulk of his income were invested either for lots or cars. I remember we have 2 cars at that time ( In the 60’s only prominent rich families can own more than one car.... but we are not rich huh!) He spends time pampering his cars like washing, cleaning and polishing. He lavished it with indoor and outdoor accessories like turbo, wings, stickers, sports wheels and other expensive accessories.. He reports the car to his auto-mechanic once a month for tune-up. He will not spare his money for repainting whenever there are scratches . He loves his car so much that sometimes it is the source of his misunderstanding with mom.

When I reached my teen-age years, I came to realize why my Dad was captivated with cars because I began to be attracted to it as well. I was only 14 years old when I successfully drove the car with-in the subdivision. The same year, I was able to take the car for a 30- minute drive from our place to the center of the center. The road was not congested that time so my first driving experience was an easy one.

Now I dream of owning a sports or luxury car someday.... Ahhh for now I am just contented collecting auto magazine.. I enjoyed looking at the latest car accessories like dashboard, led tail lights, spoiler , gps system and body kits. My being car aficionado is now passed on to my 13-yr. old son. He has posters of his favorite racing cars on his room. Often times we browse the internet to know the latest vehicle out in the market and watch you tube car racing videos. This is our bonding time together. Men are always fascinated with cars... Do you agree?

Biking under a scorching heat!

I went biking yesterday and I felt the scorching heat of the sun as high as 38 degrees Celsius or 100 degrees Fahrenheit . My wife told me not to go biking between 2 - 4 pm .. she's afraid on the fatal HEAT STROKE. I guess I should listen to her. Might as well shcange my schedule to early morning... 6:00 am to 8:00 would do.

Thankful Thursday

This month will be a busy month for me. Praise God I was tasked with speaking engagements for various college retreats in Cagayan de Oro City and the neighboring cities , schedule are as follows :

March 13 ( Saturday) - Immanuel Mission School
March 14 ( Sunday ) - Ateneo de Cagayan ( Xavier University)
March 15 ( Monday) - Guevarra Institute of Technology (GIT)
March 19 ( Friday) - Pilgrim Christian College
March 20 ( Saturday) - Mindanao University of Science and Technology

Theirs a great need of our young people today to have the right perspective and knowledge in choosing priorities in life. It is a reality that many of our youth became the victims of wrong choices and suffers the dire consequences of it. With the moral decline of our youth which affects also the families in our society.

This is the time of intimate searching for the young people .. so pray for me.

Elton John labelled JESUS as Gay!

I was shocked to read from a magazine headline that ELTON JOHN labelled Jesus as gay in ohis recent interview with Parade magazine last February 2010. As quoted he said"I think Jesus was a compassionate, super-intelligent gay man who understood human problems"

I could'nt help but pity this poor 62 year old guy... I hope she (?) .. I mean he didn't know what he is doing. This is pure BLASPHEMY! Remember John Lennon? What happened after he shouted in one of his concert that BEATLES is more POPULAR THAN JESUS! Don't mocked GOD... or else.....

Watery Wednesday : Fish Spa

This is me having a fish spa at Manila Ocean Park.

My 20/20 Vision

I never thought I would wear a reading eyeglasses not until I accompanied my wife for an eye check-up 2 years ago. Out of curiosity , I volunteered myself to be checked-up also. Right then and there ,I realized iI no longer have a 20/20 vision. My wife and I went out from that optical clinic both wearing eyeglasses! My prescription eyeglasses became my best buddy from that day on ( of course ! That's aside from my wallet, cellphone and car key).

My doctor prescribed me a progressive type lens. Meaning, I can use my eyeglasses while reading and at the same time teaching. At first, I had a hard time adjusting to it but later I find it more practical. Now, I want a new one but not the expensive type as my first pair which has a “see through” and “scratch free” lens. I realized it is better to have 2 or 3 eyeglasses. One I can use at home and another at the office. I searched on line yesterday to see some classic but trendy design. I am through with pure titanium frame so I will go for plastic or acetate this time like the one I found at Zenni Optical.I guess this suits my genius look! What do you think my blogger friends?
