TT : Safety on the Road

"SAFETY IS NOT THE ABSENCE OF ACCIDENT BUT  IT'S IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD!"

Indeed this is absolutely true. No matter how defensive you are in driving your care... accidents do always  happen on the road. For this week, their are three incident on the road that almost  hit me. One was while I was driving my motorbike. A car suddenly cut across my lane  causing me to  go out to the shoulder of the road. Praise God   the area was clear from people and other vehicle.  Last night,  it was raining so hard. We can not afford to be absent  for  our Mid-week fellowship.  We passed by a low elevated area causing our car to stop for awhile. Praise God it started in a minute and we were able to arrive at the Church  safe and sound.

Indeed if God is with us who can be against us?

Skywatch and LASOF

Wall mounted TV

We finally decided to wall mount our new 32” LED TV. Actually , we bought the unit two months ago but my wife was afraid to install it on the wall considering that the concreting of our wall was not done based on a 1:1 ratio of cement and sand. She’s afraid the strength of the concrete can not bear the load of our new TV. A technician happened to visit our home and inspected our wall. He found out that it’s ok to wall mount our TV.

Now, I am pressured to buy Modern Furniture to match our modern home theater set. Our sofa is already three year old and I guess it’s time to let go.

Office Extension

If there is one thing I would like to do before this year ends is to construct an extension in the house to serve as my office. To be honest, there are times that I am lazy going to the office specially when it’s raining hard or when I am not feeling well. Although I have small table in our bedroom for some quick readings and writings, I feel uncomfortable doing research works since our Internet connection is fixed at PC which is at our living room. This would also serve as study room and library for my children. I wish to complete the room with book shelves, leather office chairs, study tables.

So, if you are one of the 35%... then it’s time now to hunt for your Simple HalloweenCostumes . The internet is now flooded with Halloween Costumes which ranges from kids to adult .. from non-scary to very frightening costumes. Which will you choose?

An Essay about PEACE

Below is the Essay I made for my Son's speech in school. This piece is timely as the world commemorate today 9/11 tragedy.

HOW CAN I MAKE PEACE ALIVE IN MY WORLD”

It’s still vivid in my mind the words the choir sang...”Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me...” I begun to contemplate on this as I focused my mind on the recent events that affected my country, even my beloved Island, my birthplace, Mindanaao. Peace can be sometimes so elusive to those who seek its refuge.

But this question kept on nagging me as I attempt to put words to this writing. How can I make peace alive in my world? Let me begin by expressing my simple belief and thought of how can I possibly be an active catalyst of peace in my own world. Why not begin with myself? Yes, me. Let me be that somebody who will be wise enough to make peace first with myself, who I am, my race, my belief, my future and impart it to somone else, one person at a time. This may be a tedious task if I attempt to look at the big picture, but I believe I can make a difference with just a simple step of being at peace with myself first, then my family, my neighbor, my community and eventually my country.

I also believe that understanding one’s differences play a very important role in peace building. I will actively involve myself in worthy causes to better understand the different cultural, spiritual and religious barriers of my friends. What better place for me to begin than in my home and school? I will not be a judge to the color of their skin nor their belief which might be different with mine but rather give them due respect they so deserved.
I will treat my friends and neighbors as equal. Popular thoughts dictate that those who have the Guns, the Goons and the Gold rule. But that will not surely contribute to peace among men. Yes, let it begin with me, the outlook of seeing my fellowmen as equal as God sees them in His eyes. It is there where I can begin to appreciate their uniqueness rather than focus on their differences. Living in harmony with everyone, I believe, is one simple step I must take and let it be my solemn vow to live it and love it.

And how about giving a little love everyday? Simple gestures of kindness coupled with love can go a long, long way. This world we live in is full of hatred, anger and animosity. I will not be a part of it. I will live a life that expresses genuine care, acceptance, and love to my family, friends, neighbors and even strangers too. Will it mean something? yes, I believe so! Love makes this world go round. Love erases all the prejudices men surround themselves toward others. How can peace be so real and alive if everyone hate each other? No matter how it would be expressed, love is a universal language men can understand. It breaks all barriers that divide men and instead, it builds bridges so we can live in peace and harmony.

I will try my very best to be active in everything I wrote on this piece of paper. For me, peace is not just a word. It is living, it breathes, it acts, it’s in me. Let there be peace in my world, let it begin with me.

Remembering 9/11

Today September 11, the same day the World was Shaken. I was in the office doing some research for a speaking engagement when  my wife called me. Cellular phones was not popular then but  thanks to my nokia   six inches phone, I was reached by my wife and told me that gruesome event.  Hurriedly I fetched her at her office and watch the horrifying event at home. She didn't go back to work, instead we spent time praying and  asking God for his intervention.

Yahoo has  gathered stories  on this event. Why not click here and  hear their stories!

LET US NOT FORGET SEMPTEMBER 11

Calling Good Samaritans!

My wife told me not to give up this site! For two weeks now I have not posted anything or joined memes.I was busy for two weeks preparing everything detail for our Church Anniversary and I have no time for blogging. Fromt he program,  decoration to the variety show. Of course there are commitee heads assigned but being a pastor, I am hands own with the supervision and monitoring.

Aside from that I am discouraged with this site because of it;s feed. I have done everything to update it but it is still not working. I regret buying a domain for this site  and changing its title. I can not successfully  migrate my old feeds to the new one. Anybody good Samaritan out there who could help me?

Get Rid of Athlete's foot with Lamisil in 7 days!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of goviral. All opinions are 100% mine.

I must admit it, I had athlete's foot when I was in college. Our school was constructed in a swampy area and so when it rains the water level rises up to knee level. I struggled so hard in getting rid of it. The itching and burning sensation were very uncomfortable and annoying . I have tried almost anything, all the products out there- from home remedies , all natural to synthetic medicine but they all worked for few days only. My athlete’s food even hindered me in going to some outdoor activities like sports and camping .

Thanks to my mom’s friend who recommended Lamisil to me. For a matter of one week application my athlete’s foot was cured. I was overwhelmed with the result that I spread the good news to my classmates you were suffering the same. Lamisil is the first major treatment advance in the Over-the-counter athlete's foot category in 50 years. Imagine 50 years of helping people infected with this disease.

That was 20 years ago but until now I am still recommending this foot treatment to friends and relatives. Yes!. Rainy days are here again…. So beware of this fungus. Watch the video below and spread the news .

NMEDA : Caregiver's Helpmate

As I am writing this post, I am in CUMC Hospital taking of my mother who was admitted due to Amoebiasis and low potassium count. I have only 2 siblings , one now lives in California and the other in Manila. So I am the only one left to take care of my sock mother. When she was rushed to the hospital last Friday her housemaid struggled to get her inside the taxi.

How I wish exist in our country. What is NMEDA ? It is a non-profit trade organization that offers a personalized service to people with disability to meet their specific needs specially with transport. NMEDA does not sell anything but the only association that promotes safe driving and equipment for disabled people. Their members are required to adhere to the safety standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NMEDA dealers (members) are the ones who sell handicap vans and vehicle modifications for disabled people.
My sister in California who works in a hospital said that most of the wheelchairs in the US are personalized believing that no two people with a disability are exactly the same… there is where NMEDA fit it. They have Dealers and Quality Assurance Program (QAP) dealers. Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry. It is based on the principle that in order to satisfy customers consistently, companies must have a systematic and documented approach to quality.

It’s tough to be a caregiver as per experiences relayed by my sister but it is made easier because of NMEDA qualified dealer assistance. They help the elderly or disabled get back onto the road of independence.
