Our friend's multiple sclerosis

One of our family friends who live and work in the U. S. for 13 years now had this problem since she’s 12 years old. Her doctor diagnosed her with multiple sclerosis (MS). We are all ignorant of this at first but her doctor explained to us that Multiple sclerosis, also known as "disseminated sclerosis" is an inflammatory disease in which the fatty myelin sheaths around the axons of the brain and spinal cord are damaged, leading to demyelination and scarring as well as a broad spectrum of signs and symptoms. Disease onset usually occurs in young adults, and it is more common in women. We may not fully understand what her doctor explained to us but our dear friend is taking today a Rebif , a disease-modifying-therapy that her doctor recommended her to take. We are hoping that she stays healthy and enjoys her life with her family as she continues to work as a nursery teacher in one of the schools in California.
