Before the various distractions of today like the electronic gadgets, TV and online games, the long summer days of my boyhood were brightened each week with the bookmobile . It was a bus with book-filled shelves that were transported from the city's regional library to neighborhoods so that kids would be compelled to read during summer rather than doing unproductive things. A very fruitful government project to educate kids. Because of the bookmobile, I spent many a happy summer day reading books that would otherwise have been inaccessible. To this day, I am thankful for the love of books that the bookmobile fostered in me. I gained a lot of knowledge and it motivated me all through out my learning years - from elementary, to college..and until know.
