Holistic Small GRoups

Holistic small groups are disciple-making communities which endeavor to reach the un-churched, meet individual needs, develop each person according to their God-given gifts and raise leaders to sustain the growth of the church.

This is the reason why Blessed Hope Community Church International created  a small group called LIGHTHOUSE. It is a place where the brethren  in the same  neighboring   area congregated together. It is the same as the principle of a house church, but we call it as " Lighthouse" in our church.  We do believe that like healthy body cells, holistic small groups are designed to grow and multiply.

An Effective Leadership

Effective leadership begins with an intimate relationship with God, resulting in Christ like character and a clear sense of God’s call. As spiritual maturity increases, effective pastors and leaders multiply, guide, empower and equip disciples to realize their full potential and work together to accomplish God’s vision.

The pastor exerts firm clear leadership, defining reality and offering hope. He/she is clearly trusted by the congregation and has developed close cooperative relationships with the leaders, elected and informal.

Exercise done in peace and quite environment

Honestly I have not tried doing yoga exercise. I am into mountain biking , running and other sports but never with yoga. Maybe because, I thought that this kind of exercise is for women only. I love doing my exercise around a lot of people, this maybe the reason why I am not incline on doing Yoga because this kind of exercise is done in a peaceful and quiet environment . I know there are lots of benefits with Yoga like generally it works to enhance your strength and flexibility. It also aids in providing a stronger spine. While feeling relaxed, yoga can improve your muscular system and body parts that other exercises can't. Have your tried doing yoga ? Then find yoga clothes here .

Congratulations Dr. Gemini Fancubit Asok !

A quick note to greet my elder sister Gemini  for  finishing the PhD in Psychology

We are proud of you sistah! We can not wait to see you!

Accoustic Guitar and ipad

We’re quite busy nowadays. Our two kids have just graduated from their elementary and high school. You can feel and see the excitement in their eyes as they marched on the isle beaming with pride and satisfaction of finishing their studies. Our daughter Dalefaith Grace will enter the 7th grade next school year, while her brother, Isaiah John will enter college taking up a Medical Technology course as a full scholar! Glory all to God! We asked them what would they want as our graduation gift and our son told us that he wants to have an Apple ipad mini to be used for his schooling. Our daughter giggled as she told us that she wants a brand new acoustic guitar. We went to a keyboard piano guitar center and bought a black acoustic guitar to the delight of our dear daughter, while her brother almost jumped seeing his ipad mini after their graduation rites. We are all proud of their achievement. God bless them both.

Baccalaureate Message : W.A.L.K. and Appreciate Life

JEREMIAH 29:11”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Ours is a fast-paced society. People are always on the go, rushing to do things quickly. We want to accomplish things and even squeeze our schedules to fit in our mountains of tasks. We want things to be done quickly & even instantly. To wait means to waste time. We have now instant coffee, instant juice, instant milk, instant nanny, and instant boyfriend/girlfriend to meet the demand of our time. People are thinking that the more things we can do the more accomplishments we have. But that is not always the case. Accomplishments and tasks done will not always equal to success in life. The downside of this is that our society is on the brink of forgetting the essentials of life, the important things to appreciate and be thankful. That’s why we need to slow down, take a WALK and see the beauty of life, of God’s creation and live life to the fullest. But what do we need to do?

TAKE A WALK: When you walk, you quite literally see more.  Your field of vision is nearly 180 degrees, compared to 40 degrees when you’re traveling at 100kph.  Higher speeds blur our peripheral vision, whereas walking actually broadens your canvas and dramatically shifts the objects of your attention.

WILLINGNESS – Be passionate about life.
Have the attitude of willingness. Somebody said, “If there’s a will, there’s a way.” If you have the will to win, you have achieved half your success; if you don’t, you have achieved half your failure. – David Ambrose
A. Be willing to learn – If we stop being ignorant every day, we stop learning. – HIGH SCHOOL PA LANG…DAGHAN PA ANG MOSUNOD.
B. Be willing to take risks – Take risks:  if you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.  ~Author Unknown. “Many small people, in many small places, do many small things that can alter the face of the world.”
C. Be willing to set a goal – “The tragedy in life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal.  The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach.” – Benjamin Mays. The purpose of life is a life of purpose. - Robert Byrne
D. Be willing to inspire others – Character is what inspires others. “Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” – Abraham Lincoln
E. Be willing to pay the price – “You can have everything in this world but no one will give it to you for free.” Pat Riley

Life is not perfect in fact the truth is life is unfair! We all make mistakes and if we don’t have the right perception on failure then we become discouraged and stop living. Failures are just temporary setbacks; we can always choose to stand up every time we fall down. Confucius said, “Our greatest glory is in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.”

Michael Jordan on failure: “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying. I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shots and missed. I’ve failed over, and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Never fear failure; fear not trying, fear not giving your best, fear losing focus, but never fear failure. Failure is the path to success. Failure is the sign that you’re headed in the right direction.

To succeed twice as fast, fail twice as much. Fail often, fail daily, and soon you will succeed. Jordan said, “I’ve never been afraid to fail.”

Love makes the world go round. It is the essence of life. Without it life is nothing but a routine. Take a walk and realize that there’s more to love in life. This is one thing that many of us failed to understand.

Love your family. Never underestimate the importance of the basic unit of society. Our family is our refuge. It is where we learn love, sacrifice, understanding, and cooperation.
Love your friends. Hang out with those who will inspire you to be more productive, to be useful in your life, to help you reach your goal.
Love your schooling. Education takes a lifetime.
Love your Teachers. There work is nobler than you can think.
Love God above all.

Many today believe that fame, gold and glory are the most important thing in live. But they fail to recognize the Giver of life, our GOD! Without God man will cease to exist! Men will become heartless zombies, dead to our ambitions and selfish desires, all bound to utter destruction.

THE PARADOX (irony, contradictions) OF OUR TIME:
The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight or just ignore it.

Remember spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side. Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

INTRODUCTION TO MY LESSON FOR WEDNESDAY DOCTRINAL STUDIES : One of the great truths of salvation is that of justification. But what is justification? The heart of the Reformation controversy was over the meaning of this word and despite the impression given by ECT, the Roman Catholic and Protestant Churches are still very much at odds with one another on this issue. The Reformers claimed that the Roman Catholic Church had perverted the true biblical meaning of the term by insisting on the necessity of works and sacraments as the basis for justification. And the Roman Church charged that the Reformer’s teaching of faith alone (sola fide) and imputed righteousness was unbiblical and itself a perversion of the gospel message. In order to properly evaluate these two positions it is essential that we understand correctly what the bible teaches on this subject. And this begins with a biblical understanding of the nature of God. Why? Because all biblical teaching on salvation is rooted in the character of God himself.

Appreciating your wife

If you want to see God do wonders in your marriage, start praising your spouse. Every single day, a husband should tell his wife, “I love you. I appreciate you ". You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.I do this everyday... I don't mind if I am like a resounding cymbal  but it's already part of my routine. The first thing I do in the  morning is say a prayer and then when my wife is already awake, I'll say my sweetest 'I LOVE YOU" to her. We've been together 18  years and I will do it for the rest of  my life.

Continue  appreciating and encouraging you wife now!

Upgrading our Church instruments

Our music technician has listed several things we need to buy to replace the defective microphones in our church. One of our friends in the music store suggested that we buy yeti microphone for its quality output and durability. We have already visited several music stores and yet we opted to agree with our friend’s idea. Our existing microphones were bought locally. Now we are trying to order   Yeti Microphone online .

We are all excited to see the new sets of microphones, guitars, drums and other musical instruments we need to acquire and upgrade all these for our church’s activities this summer.

Our Dream Wall

General Douglas McArthur

I have seen the poster of one of the greatest generals in World War II. I’m talking about Gen. Douglas McArthur who led the Allied invasion to recapture the Philippines from Japanese occupation. His famous line “I shall return” is always cherished by Filipinos. And how about his cigar pipe, who could forget that? These famous cigars that were used by important people have also been included in the history of the world. My sister’s boyfriend who gave us a cigar from Cuba as a token during his visit here told us that this one brand is popularly used by famous people in the movie industry, politics and even presidents of different nations.
