Amazing Video

I was surfing the net for a video to be presented this coming Sunday when I came over this very powerful video of Salvation. Jesus indeed paid the full price of our sins. He gave His life for you and me. I cried on this one. Thank you so much Oh God for giving Your Son Jesus for me. I love you with all my heart, mind and strength. Please take time to view this. You will surely be blessed!

Tuesday eManna # 1 : God's Armor

Apostle Paul shows us how to fight in 2 Cornithians 10:3,4 : " For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world". The first we should understand is, there is a war zone all around us. Believing it isn't there doesn't make it go away... but it does make us vulnerable to the vicious attacks of the enemy. I Peter 5:8 reminds us of what the enemy is trying to do to us. Stay Alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Our greatest assurance amids all these is that we have God's armor ( Ephesian 6:13). We must put the helmet of salvation, the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness . We must "put on" the armor of God to be victorious in every area of our lives. Amen?

He is the greatest fo all

The famous world Champion boxer MOHAMMAD ALI is known for many memorable sound bites. But none is better known that his claim to be the greatest boxer of all time. It is impossible to find whether he was truly better than all those who came before. Neither it is clear that he could have beat all the boxers that have come since his days. That fact that Ali lost 5 fights clouds the issue.

This is the way of all humanity; someone will always come along to take your place. The author of Hebrews proves to the reader that Jesus, the Son of God, is different in this respect. Jesus truly and absolutely the greatest of all eternity. There has been no one before him who was great and there will be no one after. There will be no one to take His place, because there will never be any need for anyone to do so. .

God's Word really works

Jesus said, “ I am the Way” and “ NO ONE comes to the Father except through ME”.

Do not misunderstand what Jesus is saying. He’s not just saying how you get to heaven. He’s saying, If you want to live life the way you were created to live, then the only way to do it is to follow His lead.

People ask me if living according to the Word of God really works. My answer is that I simply have to look at what my life was like before and what it is like today… from the inside out. I know what God has done in my life, how He’s changed me on the inside, how He’s healed me and turned my life around. Before I am a man full of vices – Now no more. Being raised is an above average family (financially) , I was proud and arrogant . But God humbled me and took away my unlikely character. No one else could have done that. And the fulfillment in my life today is beyond my own hopes.

I still have struggles, I still have to work through emotional distress at times. But I love my life. And because God’s Word works. I can always go to the Word of God and get wisdom and direct understanding of How God loves me and how He wants me to live and love others.

What's your calling?

In the Kingdom ofGod, there are no "spectator-only" believers. God calls all Christians to be participating actively and faithfully in the work that builds and advances his kingdom. To sit in a church doing nothing but singing and praying is not an option

God has invested in each believer certain spiritual gifts. Our task is to be sensitive through Bible study and prayer. As we do, we come to know Christ better, growing in our knowledge of His calling on our lives. Each of us needs a clearer understanding of our calling

Discover your calling ang ministry today?

Thank God I am a Filipino

I thank God for making me a Filipino. Being born for a purpose and with a purpose is more important than the color of your skin and what your race is. Far more than the many prejudices against us, I can still stand tall and declare the goodness of God in my life. All I need to do is discover the good things I can contribute to our world, no matter how small is it, no matter if no one notices it. Thank You Lord for creating me as a Filipino.

RECONCILIATION

I watched my neighbor guide her two small children following a dispute over a toy. She told the offender to the other child, speak directly to him and say , " I'm sorry. The child obeyed. She then coached the offended child to say, " I forgive you". How I marveled at the latter! For me, those words stick to the roof of my mouth even when sincere apologies flow.
Reconciliation is God's way. Yet this hard truth accompanies reconciliation attempts: There are no guarantees when we try to repair relationships. Apologies and paybacks may be rejected. But in cases where the humility of the wrongdoer meets the grace of the onewronged, the results are priceless.

Take out the trash

Spiritual renewal has been a popular topic in Christianity over the past several years. Most people may think along the lines of subjective experience when this topic comes. So renewal may be thought of as a personal matter, with heavy emphasis on positive thinking. The way to renew is said to be throught the ears and the use of music and arts. Group retreats and personal time alone with God are encouraged as helpful ways to find renewal.

This youth month of our church, we scheduled a one day retreat for all the young people. A day of soaking in the presence of God through Praise and Worship and Bible studies. As Josiah removed abominations from the land, so we too must “take out the trash” in our lives in order to renew our walk with God. How do you do this in your own life?

SUNSAY SERMON : Lesson from Joseph

After gritting one’s teeth through a movie or a novel where the leading character suffers injustice, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the turning point arrice. That is the moment when the hero gets the upper hand. It’s all a person can do, whether in a crowded theater or at home.

But it will be easy to learn the wrong lesson from the story of Joseph. That wrong lesson is something like. “ If you are faithful to God for long enough, he will vindicate you before your earthly enemies in this life. The accounts of godly martyrs with the pages of the Bible say otherwise ( Examples : Jeremiah 26:20-23 and Acts 7:54-60_

The correct bigger picture , rather is that God is in control. He is working out his plan. This can be difficult to believe when life seems to be out of control. Yet the God who guided Joseph’s destiny is the one who is guiding ours.

Matthew 6:33

God's word is simply amazing. His principles are our guide to a joyful, fruitful and victorious Christian life. His promises are true! None of it ever failed to be accomplished. What we need is a humble and teachable heart to follow His plan and God will surely show how wonderful it is to live inside His will enjoying His blessings and favor! God bless you all!

SUNDAY PREACHER

I thank God for the blessing of giving me the opportunity to preach on our Sunday Worship service. It is such a humbling experience standing before the congregation knowing that it is GOD and not anybody else causes me to be there on the pulpit sharing His word to His wonderful people.

During our Midweek prayer fellowship, this phrase just came to my mind “THE KING OF POP AND THE KING OF KINGS!” I laughed at the idea but then God reminded me to strike a chord to everyone that in spite of the worldwide popularity of Michael Jackson (The king of pop), in spite of the many devotions people offered him, we all must not forget that our God, our Savior, the King of king and Lord of lords must be the only one to be given our whole hearted devotion and worship.

PRAY FERVENTLY WITH YOUR CHILDREN

I find this article by Rick Warren significant fot todays Father's day celebration. Its a reminder for all of us fathers.
"I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they are Yours" (John 17:9 NIV).

Jesus reflected the father heart of God when He prayed for the disciples. As a father, or mother, you can pray that your children will focus on the five purposes of God.

God's five purposes for your children are the same as God's five purposes for your life, and the same as the five purposes for the church. Jesus prayed for all five purposes in the lives of those He was leading.

Jesus said, "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given me, for they are Yours" (John 17:9 NIV).

We can pray that our children will live for Christ joyfully: "I say these things while I'm still in the world so that they will have the same joy that I have" (John 17:13 GWT).

We can pray that our children will grow strong spiritually: "I'm not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one" (John 17:15 NLT).

We can pray that our children will serve Christ effectively: "Make them ready for Your service through Your truth; Your teaching is truth" (John 17:17 NCV).

We can pray that our children will experience fellowship personally: "My prayer . . . is that they will be of one heart and mind, just as You and I are one, Father . . . and the world will believe You sent me" (John 17:21 LB).

We can pray that our children will bring others to Christ regularly: "I pray not only for them, but also for those who will believe in Me because of their message" (John 17:20 TEV).

Even if you are not a father, or a mother, you will help others move toward the heart of God by praying for them and the purposes God has planned for their lives.

REFRESHING THOUGHTS

Believers need to be reminded on a fairly regular basis of some realities concerning their faith and the God whom they serve. The most important is the God is God. Psalm 100:3 boldly declares “ Know that the Lord is God.” Our Lord God is the creator and sustainer of life. Everything flows from Him. All creation has some from his hand. All creation continues by His power.

Bad things happen when we lose tracks of these facts. We begin rlying on our own strength. We begin walking by sight rather than by faith. We push Godd off the thrones of our hearts and out ourselves there instead.

We all drift into that mode at time or other, don’t we? What is important we must go back from where we have drifter and refresh ourselves.

The Paradoxes in a Christian life

(Below is my preaching last wednesday June 3,2009. We enjoyed the fellowship in the midts of an electrical power black out. Thanks to the flash lights and candles...nothing can stop God's Words to be preached....)

Text: Matthew 5:1-5:13

A paradox is a statement that doesn’t seem to make sense; but when understood, makes a lot of sense. In fact, a paradox says something that couldn’t be said as well any other way.

Jesus made some paradoxical statements. He did so to draw the attention of His listeners, who then had to think about what He had said. The Apostle Paul did the same.

Then there are also paradoxes in everyday life. I came across this list of several. We have taller buildings, but shorter tempers, wider freeways but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, buy more, but enjoy it less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences but less time. We have more college degrees but less sense, more knowledge but less judgment. We’ve learned how to make a living, but not a life. We’ve added years to life, but not life to years. We’ve done larger things, but not better things. We build more computers to hold more information that we print on more paper than every before, but we communicate less. These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, tall people and short character, steep profits but shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses but broken homes.
You get the idea.

The Christian life is a paradox to many people, but not to those who really live it. Consider the following paradoxes: they’ll help you to understand what being a Christian all is about:

1. WE FIND BY LOSING
"He that finds his life shall lose it, and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it." (Matthew 10:39)

2. WE RECEIVE BY GIVING
"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back." (Luke 6:38)

3. WE ARE EXALTED BY BEING HUMBLE (Matthew 23:12)
"Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted."

4. BECOME GREAT BY BECOMING SMALL (Matthew 18:4)
"Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

5. OUR WEAKNESS IS OUR STRENGTH (2 Corinthians 12: 9,10).
"And he said unto me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong."

6. WE RULE BY SERVING (Mark 10:42-45)
"You know that those who are supposed to rule over the nations lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all."
.

7. WE LIVE BY DYING (Galatians 2:20)
"I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
"What shall we then say to these things?" If the Christian life is a paradox, then the actions of individual Christians should make non-Christians wonder. The very fact that Christians do the opposite of what non-Christians would do in the same situation should challenge their whole approach to life!

FUNERAL MESSAGE

I was invited to give a short message during a funeral service last week. Below is the message. I hope You will be enlightened too!

TEXT : John 11:1-11:31

It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting,
for death is the destiny of every person; the living should take this to heart.

3 reasons for this:

1. this is a time for us to celebrate the life that God gave to us. We’re sad but we also want to remember ones life.

2. It’s a time for us to say good-bye . As hard as it is, this service will help us begin the process of letting go.

3. It’s a time for us to take a look at our own lives. We are all going to die someday. It’s a great time to ask some tough questions. Questions like, “Am I ready to die?” and “Where will I go when my life is over?” When it comes right down to it, this service is more for us who are living than for the person who has died.

And so, we’re going to remember, we’re going to say good-bye, and we’re going to reflect on our own lives.

Some of you are searching for answers this afternoon. I want you to know that it’s OK to ask those questions. It’s natural to wonder why this had to happen.

TRUTH 1:
THERE’S A TIME FOR EVERYTHING. You shouldn’t feel guilty for wondering if there was something that God could have done. God could have kept Patricia from dying. But, for some reason, He didn’t.

Ecclesiastes 3:2 reminds us that there is a Time to be born and a Time to die. While we don’t understand why Patricia died, we do know it was her time to die.

TRUTH #2:
GOD IS WITH YOU IN YOUR SORROW AND HE FEELS IT. John 11:35 tells us what Jesus did - “he wept.”

TRUTH #3:
WE MUST REFLECT ON OUR LIFE TODAY - Where Will You Go? I have a question for you today. Where will you go when it’s your time to die?

verses 25-26: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies. Do you believe this?”

Determine today to put your faith and trust in Jesus as the Savior and Leader of your life. This is real stuff, isn’t it?

James 4:14 says, “What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.”

Proverbs 27:1 reminds us to not boast about tomorrow because we don’t know what a day will bring forth. Some people are always bragging about what they’re going to do and they never do anything. “One of these days I’m going to do this.” “I’ll tackle that later.” But, later may never come.

• Life is unpredictable. We don’t even know what will happen tonight, much less next week or next year. The truth is that no one can predict the future.

• Life is brief. Our lives are like a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. The Greek word here is the word atmos, from which we get the word “atmosphere,” which is that invisible layer of water vapor that encircles our planet. Our lives are like a mist in the grand scheme of things.

a. Psalm 90:12 to number our days. The truth of the matter is that all of us are just one heartbeat away from eternity.
b. 1 Samuel 20:3, David said, “Yet as surely as the Lord lives and as you live, there is only a step between me and death.”

Our lives are like a vapor – here one minute and gone the next. Don’t put off this decision. Decide today to give your life to Jesus.

PROMISES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN

It has been said that promises are made to be broken. Unfortunately, we do see promises broken too often. As couple stand before God and a group of family and friends promising to remain to each other until death should separate them. Then a difficulty arises in the marriage and the promise is broken. Divorce rates attests to it. Politicians run for office making various promises to their constituents to garner votes, but when elected, the promises are too often forgotten.

People change -that is a given fact. God never changes , He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is the One who always keeps His promise. People may be unfaithful but God remains faithful at all times. TRUST ON GOD INSTEAD OF MEN!
