I was nearly lured by my classmates to attend an initiation and be a member of a fraternity in our campus. I was on my junior high when this happened. It was difficult for me since I was warned by my parents not to be involved in any fraternity group without their consent. I have a positive idea about “brotherhood” having known several parents of my friends who are members of a fraternity group. But that was different. The time my classmates recruited me to join their group, there was an on-going conflict between them and another fraternity group because of membership issues.

I’m glad that I refused to join them that time because several of the members of their group were arrested due troubles with another fraternity faction. I’ve got to admit that I’m scared at that time since I don’t want my studies to be affected. But I also heard of some good news about the benefits of being in a “brotherhood” since it can help you in your studies and even your work in the future.
