TT : The Bible as Unique and Strange Book

Scripture: Isaiah 55:8 - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. “

The Bible is a unique and strange Book. It is very different from any other “sacred book” of other religions. The Bible contains “God’s thoughts” which are strange and yet marvellous spiritual teachings. Among them are paradoxes. A Paradox is defined as a seemingly self-contradictory declaration but is in fact true, the underlying meaning of which is revealed only by careful scrutiny. The purpose of a paradox is to arrest attention and provoke fresh thought. The statement "Less is more" is an example. To some, such biblical paradoxes may seem somewhat ridiculous and yet such are the very words of God which were written for our admonition, learning and benefit. Tonight let us together learn from God’s powerful Word on how to live a contradicting life yet effecting change and fruitfulness around us.

The Bridge Master

My Campus Values Teaching today was a tearful one. I let my 4th year class see the Video clippings “ The Bridge Master” and most of them can not help but cry. It’s such a powerful illustration of the Power of Love. The Bridge Master sacrificed his only son to die to save the lives of the many who were inside the train. The video ended with the message of GOD’s Love .. that He gave His only son to die on the cross of the redemption of mankind.

The Gospel was made clear through the video and thank God for many received Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
